PNB net banking portal update

The public sector bank PNB has finally updated its internet banking portal.
The banking portal of the bank was quite dull looking and slow till now. Today, the portal was updated and a few new services were also added. The banking website now runs on Java and is much easier to use.
Here is a look at the new features introduced:

1.      Change User ID
The default user ID for PNB is their customer ID which is quite difficult to remember. It is a 9 letter word with a combination of letters and numbers. With a new feature that PNB introduced today, you can now change your default User ID. This is a facility only for retail customers and the username can be changed only once.

2.      Online Password Reset
Being a PNB net banking user, I faced great difficulty a few days back when I forgot my transaction password. There was no option of online password reset and I had to reset the password by going to my home branch. At last PNB has realized the need of online password reset. This feature is definitely going to benefit a lot of users across the country.

3.      New User Registration
For obtaining a new online banking account, a user would not have to wait for the time that was earlier consumed in the branch. Now you can register a new account online. Any retail or current account user can avail this facility by just entering the account details and validating the account for which new internet banking account is desired. The new net banking account would be activated within 24-48 hours.

4.      Credit to Loan Accounts
Now you can transfer funds from your account to your loan account just by a click using this new feature launched by PNB today.

Another important feature in today’s update that PNB has not mentioned is the ‘logout’. Earlier after pressing the logout button, users were taken to another screen where the portal asked for a confirmation. Many users closed the window without that confirmation and thus closed without a logout. Now the logout works like anywhere else, i.e. on a single click.
The upgrade that the portal has got today was a much waited one and would help the PNB customers in having a smooth online experience. Prior to the upgrade, online banking services for retail users remained at a halt during the day today. After the halt, users were greeted with an all new design of the site and a better experience.
