Their hopes were given much height when rumors came out that iPhone 5 would be launched in India on October 6, i.e. the last Friday of this month. The report was published on various online portals that Apple would officially release the iPhone in India on October 26.
But talking to IBT times, a representative from Apple India rejected the rumors saying that "We have no announcements at the moment on a launch (iPhone 5) or price in India. All reports currently (doing the rounds) are purely media speculation".
This ended the high hopes of iPhone fans in India who want to get the device before everyone else. But there is still something that they can rely upon.
